Community Engaged Projects
When I am not weaving, I am engaged in community-led projects that involve various skills ranging from print to mixed media. I enjoy seeing myself as a ‘fragmatist,’ a skilled artist who utilises fragments of time and history in my practice-based workshops. Often, my teaching philosophy revolves around textile narration, where I actively engage with the community by conducting workshops that explore fragments of social history, focusing on storytelling and understanding the historical significance behind each design while incorporating colour palettes that reflect social identity. This is sometimes reflected in my community tartan projects Blairgowrie High School ‘River Ericht Tartan’ (2021-2022) and Perth Museum Community Weaving Project (2023-2024).

Intergenerational Weaving Project
The Weavers Incorporation of Dundee, which is part of the Nine Trades Incorporation, has allowed me to bring looms into care homes for meaningful interactions with senior citizens. These weaving initiatives have infused joy and served as a delightful diversion from regular routines by allowing residents to engage in conversation while they weave.
